NSS is a voluntary association of young people in Colleges, Universities and at +2 levels working for a campus-community linkage. National service scheme (NSS) stands for social service, unity and integration.

Ramabai Govt. Girls P.G. College, Akbarpur has two units of NSS of 200 volunteers and has applied for a unit of NCC (Girls wing). NSS volunteers undergo various activities for social service, hygiene, health, and care and campus development throughout the session. Fifty percent of the volunteers undergo a seven days camp each year. After the successful completion of one year training, volunteers get a certificate from the university. This certificate entitles them weight age in the selection procedure of their further academic courses.
